Like every year, the fair will showcase entertainers from locations including Des Moines, Iowa; Cleveland, Ohio; Janesville, Wis.; South Bend, Ind.; the Peoria area and numerous areas in between. Magic Mark, from Streator, will be back this year.
“We do have a lot of musical entertainment this year,” Kocher said.
Additional entertainment includes Axed in Time, featuring hatchet and knife throwing and belly dancers. Kocher said Charlene, the Mother of All Dragons, is popular with children.
The Wonder Elixir of Life Show will be a first for the fair this year. The show is a classic, Renaissance-era "medicine show" in the style of the Mountebanks of the Tudor Era and beyond. Characters will extol the virtues of their "amazing elixir" and perform small routines of fortune telling, magic and humor.
“Something we thought would be fun, especially for the children, is a a drum circle for everyone to join in,” Kocher said. “So, if you have a drum or something similar, bring it along. You'll also be able to visit our Fairy Garden.”
The fair King (John Spangler) and Queen (Elaine Upton, of Fantasy Costumes) will be conduct a prince and princess costume judging contest at 12:30 p.m. Any child wearing a costume automatically will be entered.
Along with the entertainment, there will be an opportunity to shop at about a dozen craft booths.
