Remodeled Ottawa home 'a farmer's winter project'
Remodeled Ottawa home 'a farmer's winter project'
Nestled among the tree-lined streets, the neighborhood is a quiet and beautiful place to live. 703 Chapel Street is one of large homes that add to the neighborhood's charm. It's also a home that was gutted and remodeled by Everett and Wilma Olmstead.

No one was living in the home when the Olmsteads purchased the 1,697 square-foot, four bedroom, two-story property in 2001. And they never planned to live in it, either. It was bought specifically for Everett to remodel. It's what he loves to do.

Adventure awaits in Starved Rock State Park's canyons
The wide open, 90-foot high St. Louis Canyon is a favorite for families. said Edna Daugherty, activities director at Starved Rock Lodge & Conference Center, as she looked over the crowd taking part in a recent guided hike.

Water rushed over the edge and splashed down onto the canyon floor as families stood nearby in awe and gathered together for group photos.

She recommended guests take the scenic route and travel to the canyon from the Lodge as the trails take visitors past many other canyons and scenic stops.

SENIORS CAN SIMPLIFY EVERYDAY TASKS
SENIORS CAN SIMPLIFY EVERYDAY TASKS
The ability to perform everyday tasks is something many people take for granted. But as men and women approach or exceed retirement age, many may start to struggle with chores and tasks they have performed for decades.

Physical limitations are a common side effect of aging. But such limitations do not have to prove too big a hurdle for seniors to clear. In fact, there are many ways for seniors to simplify everyday tasks while maintaining their independence.

His skydiving planes were fit for delivering the supplies that included pet and animal food, pet medications, leashes, collars and also other items for basic human needs, such as medicine, batteries and generators. Or as Nelson put it: "basically everything you might find in a hardware store."
