2997 Route 71
Ottawa, IL 61350
Owned by The Conservation Foundation and managed by the City of Ottawa, this 253-acre preserve is one of LaSalle County’s newest parks!
Winding along the bluffs of the Fox River for nearly a mile, this park features bubbling creeks, a beautiful ravine system, expansive prairie, natural woodlands, a pioneer cemetery and Native American burial mounds! Conveniently located just a stone's throw way from Interstate 80, and directly off of Route 71, Dayton Bluffs is also one of the region's most easily accessible parks.
You'll find an expansive system of branching trails located right off of the parking lot, giving you almost instant access to acres of open prairie and more than 154 forested acres. There, you'll be a picturesque narrow dirt path that winds through the woods, allowing you to commune with nature and walk through history.
