For the Love of Starved Rock's primary goal is raise the funds necessary to make much-needed repairs to the park's trail system. By securing monetary donations for these infrastructure improvements and providing education to visitors on the proper use of our shared natural resources, we can all help to ensure that Starved Rock State Park will be accessible and enjoyed by millions of visitors for many, many years to come! The centerpiece of this project will be the Starved Rock's first ADA accessible trail to an overview, allowing new guests to experience the park's beautiful vistas.
"While the State of Illinois and its taxpayers do provide money for the maintenance of Starved Rock State Park, it is simply not enough to cover the continued maintenance needs of the most highly visited park in the state," said Amy Trimble, CEO of Starved Rock Lodge. "It is our understanding that some funding has already been set aside for the ADA accessible project but much more is needed to complete this project and the others outlined in our plan of action. That is why we need help beyond what the state can do for us."
