After the successful staging of last month's first ever Virtual Third Friday art show, artists, artisans and independent retailers from across Starved Rock Country gathering together for another evening of free live entertainment and community bonding!
Billed as a celebration of art, fun, music, dance and community, Ottawa's Third Friday's have become a staple of the Starved Rock Country arts scene. During past events, many talented artists have set up shop in The Open Space Art Gallery and Studio and nearby City Folk Gallery, while musicians of all genres have preformed at the nearby CatsEye Wine Bar.
But in light of COVID-19, many were unsure there'd be any Spring installments of the festival. With the shelter-in-place order still be in effect, many artists, and fans of the pop-up event, were worried that Third Friday might have to be postponed for the duration of 2020.
But fret not art lovers! Open Space Art Gallery and Studio have begun co-ordinating virtual Third Friday Events that you can take part in from the comfort of your own home. These web-cam powered events are windows into the world of talented artists, giving you a rare opportunity to hear creators speak about their pieces and process. You can even purchase some pieces of art to lighten up your home during the quarantine!
