Starved Rock Country's own farm-to-foam craft brewery, Tangled Roots Brewing Co, has had a banner year! This innovative drinking destination has expanded to two brand new suburban locations in Lockport and Glenview, all while doubling down on their commitment to serving the travelers and locals of Starved Rock Country through exciting benevolent programs like For The Love of Starved Rock. But starting this Saturday, February 19th, they'll be taking one more big leap- celebrating their fifth year in business!
To mark this special occasion, Tangled Roots Brewing Co. will be rolling out nine brand new craft beers across all three of their Northern Illinois locations, along with a series of limited time beer paring menus in their delicious restaurants.
If you're visiting the Starved Rock Country area, you'll find all nine on tap at Tangled Root's flagship tasting room in beautiful downtown Ottawa. These limited-time beers will be released starting at 11AM on Saturday, February 19th. However, Tangled Roots Brew Club Members will be able to pick up one of the most coveted anniversary brews, the Dobroy Nochi bomber bottles, starting today (February 18th) at The Lone Buffalo in Ottawa or Lockport's Lock and Mule.
Here's a look at some of the highlights that'll be unveiled this Saturday:
Bourbon Barrel Aged Vanilla Dobroy Nochi - To celebrate their fifth anniversary, Tangled Roots took their signature BBA Dobroy Nochi and added an absurd amount of vanilla beans to create a silky and luscious take on this fan favorite beer.
German Chocolate Cake Dobroy Nochi - The German Chocolate Cake version of Tangled Root's imperial stout was aged on cacao nibs, toasted coconut, and toasted pecans to create a decadent dessert in your glass. This beer is a rich and sweet treat for beer drinkers everywhere.
Tropical YUM - Sick of the cold weather? Tangled Roots is bringing the tropics to you with a fruit-infused New England IPA. Pack with pineapple, strawberry, and peach puree, this highly sippable craft beer is sure to please any IPA fanatics.
The festivities don't stop there, Tangled Roots will also be releasing three limited-time beer pairing menus, one for each of their brewpub locations. Ottawa's The Lone Buffalo will be featuring six signature items that perfectly compliment a selection of Tangled Root's core line, and anniversary edition, craft beers.

FORTY 1 Eighty 8 Lager - Brined Buffalo Chicken Wings - This ale has a light and crisp mouth feel w/ notes of grape that help cut the acidity and heat from our housemade buffalo sauce. The sparkling bubbles also perfectly counter act the crispy fried exterior of our delectable wings. Black Cherry Vibes Pork sliders Hints of cherry bring out salt brine for our pork butts we smoke and braise in house, the sour finish on this beer cuts the fat and brings out the citrus notes in our brine as well.
TROPICAL YUM - Fish & Chips - This Hazy IPA compliments this dish perfectly, the hops bitterness cuts through the crispy house beer batter, the tropical notes bring out the light and flaky Atlantic cod and compliments it delicately. BLUEBERRY YUM Bayou Po-boy The fruity undertones of this beer are a great compliment to this spicy sandwich. Seasoned white shrimp is dipped in our Devil’s Paint Box IPA beer batter, then crispy fried. Served on a baguette w/ house-made Cajun aioli, sliced tomato, and lemon vinaigrette arugula.
Dobroy Nochi - Char Crusted Ribeye - This imperial stout brings out the umami flavors from this tender cut of beef and compliment the bold hickory spices that come through in our steak rub. Bourbon Barrel Aged Vanilla Dobroy Nochi Chocolate Éclair Cake The rich, deep vanilla flavor of this stout perfectly compliment this layered cake with chocolate mousse and graham crackers, topped with chocolate ganache.
