Princeton’s Down on Main Street Summer concert series returns

Mae Estes kicks off series that will feature tribute artists, funk and German bands

Princeton’s South Main Street is the place to be this summer, as the 2025 Street Concert Series returns with a lineup that brings the community together with music, food, and fun. All shows run from 5 to 7:30 p.m. and are free and family-friendly.

The season kicks off Friday with a concert by Mae Estes, whose soulful country storytelling and warm vocals have made her a local favorite.

This free public music series continues July 18 and will feature The Dave Matthews Tribute Band, bringing the beloved sounds of Dave Matthews to the streets of Princeton. Expect high-energy performances filled with familiar grooves and heartfelt renditions.

On Aug. 8, the party turns classic with Face 2 Face, a tribute to Elton John and Billy Joel. This duo captures the spirit and showmanship of two rock legends, delivering an entertaining night packed with piano-driven hits.

Sept. 4 brings the groove with Electric Avenue, a dynamic band known for their funk, soul and classic rock covers that get everyone dancing and singing along.

The series closes with a festive Oktoberfest celebration on Oct, 18, featuring the lively Heidelberg German Band. Expect traditional German music, lively rhythms, and a perfect soundtrack for the season’s fall festivities.

Each concert starts at 5 p.m. with food vendors and fun activities, including the ongoing Community Mural Project where visitors can help paint tiles for a mural honoring Princeton’s Soldiers & Sailors Monument.

Come hungry and dine with local favorites like Farmer Smoked BBQ, Golden Rice Thai, Wild Ginger, Nelson Fair Foods, Sislers Ice Cream, Xan Dandy Cotton Candy, Tacos La Rosita, Philly Factory, Hawg House Saloon, Princeton Inn and more. On Friday, Spoons & Forks and Neil and Shorty’s will be serving specials for the concert.

The Barrel Society and Coal Creek Brewing Co. will also be nearby, mixing signature drinks and offering freshly brewed beverages.
