This your final weekend to take advantage of Appetite For Adventure, the free digital passport giveaway promotion available through the Heritage Corridor Destinations app. This limited-time summer campaign, that allows visitors to check-in at area restaurants and attractions via a GPS-enabled app and earn collectible souvenirs, will wrap on Monday, September 7th - but there’s still to explore LaSalle County and earn your promo items.

The Appetite Adventure Passport directs you to more than 100 popular attractions and restaurants found across LaSalle County. Simply download the Heritage Corridor app (available via the Apple App Store or Google Play), head to the Passports menu and select “Appetite For Adventure.” This convenient app can point you to nearby attractions, allowing you to virtually check-in and earn your way towards fun, themed prizes.

You’ll see a list of 100+ Heritage Corridor members for you to visit and a counter of how many you’ve visited. Scroll to find the location you’re near and tap the name. Once you’ve selected your location, you’ll see details like phone number, website and an option to map the location. When you’re on the Objective tab you’ll see a Check-In Now button. If you’re not physically near the location, you won’t be able to check in. No purchases are required to play.

There are two tiers of rewards for participants to win in 2026 Adventure program. With just five check-ins you’ll receive an appetite for adventure cutlery set, which offers users a chance to practice sustainability with a portable, themed cutlery kit – perfect for storing in your hiking bag or glove compartment. With 10 check-ins, players will receive an appetite for adventure lunch container, perfect for brining a snack to your next Starved Rock hiking excursion.

New this year, Heritage Corridor Destinations and Enjoy Illinois have partnered to help hydrate park goers and give back through the new Fill It Forward reusable water bottle program. Pick up a complimentary water bottle, scan the QR code printed on the side of the bottle each time you refill it. Each scan sends a donation from Heritage Corridor Destinations to the Starved Rock Foundation – the 501c3 non-profit that facilitates charitable donations for the preservation and continuing operation of Starved Rock State Park.

Bottles and Appetite For Adventure rewards are available to pick up at the Starved Rock Country Welcome Center, located at 248 W. Canal St., Utica.

Limited time remains to participate in Appetite For Adventure 2026, plan to get out this weekend and explore the LaSalle County region.
